On February 1, 2006 the United States Naval Academy opened its’ online application for current juniors (current class of 2007) to apply for the Naval Academy Summer Seminar (NASS) Program. If not familiar with the NASS Program, it is a six day immersion program that runs for the first three weeks of June in three sessions (Session 1 6/3-6/8, Session 2 6/10-6/15, and Session 3 6/17-6/22). Participating in each session will be 600 of the nations top rising seniors! We want to get the word out to the best and brightest around the United States to come to NASS and hopefully become a midshipman at USNA. We need your help in reaching these young men and women and encouraging them to participate in NASS this summer.
Interested cadets can find the online application for NASS at http://www.usna.edu/admissions/nass.htm
FROM NSCC NHQ TO ALL CADETS….Just like last year, NHQ will reimburse the $300 tuition fee to each Sea Cadet who is accepted to and successfully completes NASS. Unit CO’s are to issue local orders for cadets attending, NSCTNG 003. After NASS, submit to NHQ a copy of the local orders and a receipt for the tuition expense and NHQ will reimburse each cadet via his or her unit. We did this last year and it worked well and we will do it again for 2006.
Same process for cadets accepted to the USCG AIM program as well. AIM details will also be posted when announced.
This guidance will be promulgated in the NSCC Summer Training Schedule, NSCC Information Letter 4-06, to be promulgated at the end of February, just like last year.
